Why no consent banner?
You may have noticed that our site displays no cookie banner. This is not an oversight — it is a deliberate choice: we don't need one because we don't use any cookie that requires your consent.
Our audience measurement tool (self-hosted Umami) is recognized as exempt from consent by the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), in its recommendation of 18 September 2020 on audience measurement tools.
We think it is more honest to explain what we do than to display a banner that would serve no real purpose.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) by the websites you visit. It allows the site to remember your preferences, secure your session, or measure audience.
Our approach
At Suite B Spa, we have chosen a minimalist and respectful approach. We do not use any advertising cookies or third-party tracking. We also do not use Facebook, Google Ads, TikTok or other advertising pixels.
Cookies and technologies used
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to function. They enable core features and are exempt from consent under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act:
- Browsing session — duration: session — preserves your progress during a booking
- Stripe Checkout — duration: session — secures the payment process
- Theme — duration: 12 months — remembers your theme preference
- Language — duration: 12 months — remembers your language preference
2. Anonymous audience measurement (cookie-free)
We use self-hosted Umami Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Umami is designed to respect privacy:
- No cookies are set by Umami
- No personal data is collected (no IP stored, no unique identifier)
- Data is stored on our own servers, never shared with third parties
- Statistics are aggregated and fully anonymous
Legal basis: legitimate interest — exempt from consent (CNIL recommendation of 18 September 2020).
Managing cookies in your browser
Even though we do not set any consent-bound cookies, you still retain full control of your browser at any time. You can:
- Delete technical cookies (session, theme, language) by clearing the cache via your browser settings
- Block all cookies directly via your browser settings (some site features such as booking or theme persistence may be affected)
- Use private browsing mode for an ephemeral session
